Maruti Suzuki cuts prices and works with government to recover demand M aruti Suzuki India Limited today announced that it will share the benefits of corporate tax reductions with customers, welcoming government initiatives to revive demand in the automotive industry. The company decided to reduce the price of some models by Rs 5,000 /-(prior to showroom). These popular models include all types. Alto 800, Alto K10, Swift Diesel, Celerio, Baleno Diesel, Ignis, Desire Diesel, Tour S Diesel, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross. The new price will be applied from September 25, 2019 nationwide. This price reduction exceeds the current promotional offer for our vehicle range. The company is optimistic that price reductions will reduce acquisition costs, especially for entry-level customers. This announcement before and after the festive season will help to stimulate the market to increase customer sentiment and create demand.

The Maruti and Toyota subsidiary will set up a car-destroying plant. A s the government is developing a policy for scrapping older vehicles in India, Maruti Suzuki decided to set up an old vehicle dismantling plant with a Toyota subsidiary. Maruti and Toyota Tsusho India will supply, dismantle and process end-of-life vehicles, as well as sell and sell scrap metal and other products resulting from such activities, TOI sources said.
