The name of Mahindra and Mahindra is very popular in the Indian car market. This is the reason that the waiting period of some of the company's vehicles is very high. The auto giant launched the XUV700 in the country last year and it has bagged 50,000 orders in a short span of time. The waiting period of Mahindra XUV700 is so long that even Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra is unable to get its delivery.

The businessman recently revealed this in response to shuttler Chirag Shetty's tweet. In fact, Shetty had asked him about the delivery status of his XUV700.

In response, Anand Mahindra tweeted, "We have to work extra hard to get this to you as soon as possible. I hope you find it! (By the way, I ordered one for my wife and I still don't know about its delivery).

Twitter users soon took note of Mahindra's tweet and wanted to know the exact reason behind the delay. The businessman further posted on Twitter that the global chip shortage has hit the motor vehicle industry a lot. The issue of supply of semiconductor chips has affected the sales of not only Mahindra's vehicles, but other auto companies as well.

Mahindra XUV700 has a long waiting period

Mahindra XUV700 was launched in September 2021, after which the SUV got booked up quite quickly. The first set of 25,000 bookings was completed within the first hour of the order book opening on 7th September. Within hours of the reopening of the order book next month and within four months of the launch, its bookings crossed 1 lakh and the waiting period extended.
