Competition is increasing in the Indian automobile market. Companies are making big announcements to get ahead. In this episode, Volkswagen and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. have taken a big decision. With this decision, other car makers like Tata, Hyundai, Maruti may be in trouble.

Actually Volkswagen and Mahindra & Mahindra have signed an agreement together. Volkswagen and Mahindra are exploring the use of the MEB electric component for Mahindra's new "Born Electric Platform".

The two companies announced today that they have signed a partnership agreement on May 18. Mahindra wants to equip its "Born Electric Platform" with MEB electric components such as electric motors, battery system components and battery cells.

Designed as an open vehicle platform, the MEB electric platform and its components allow car manufacturers to quickly and cost-effectively build out their portfolio of electrified vehicles. Both the companies plan to introduce electric vehicles in the Indian automobile market. India is one of the most important markets for both the companies.
