Sant’Agata Bolognese / Las Vegas, 7 January 2020 - Since 2020, Amazon Alexa has been on board the Automobili Lamborghini Huracán EVO range, elevating the super sports driving experience thanks to Amazon's cloud-based voice assistance system. The first Huracán EVO equipped with Alexa is on display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the global innovation stage, from 7 to 10 January 2020.
With the Huracán EVO Lamborghini introduces for the first time on a super sports car an infotainment system connected with digital services. It is the first car manufacturer to integrate the control of functions such as air conditioning, interior lighting and seat heating with a simple voice command, allowing the driver to concentrate only on the road. Through Alexa's voice commands it will also be possible to manage the EVV system (Lamborghini Dinamica Integrated Vehicle) of the EVO with all-wheel drive, whose voice activation functions make a qualitative leap: calls, directions, music and audiobooks, news, weather forecast and much more.
This integration also allows Lamborghini owners to connect to the growing number of devices that dialogue with Alexa. With a simple voice interaction, the drivers of the Huracán EVO can directly control anything from the gate opener devices to the thermostats and lights in the house. As a first step for a strategic collaboration with Amazon, this specially enhanced HMI (human-car interface) system will allow the continuous updating of Alexa functionality within the Lamborghini models and will pave the way for future cooperation between the two companies: both companies are working to develop further innovations in terms of connectivity and integration with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The Huracán EVO is an extraordinary car and connectivity allows customers to focus only on driving, thereby improving their experience on board our super sports cars, "said Stefano Domenicali, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini. "Our company wants to anticipate the future and this is the first time that an automaker will equip its cars with an integrated system through Amazon Alexa to bring together the car controls, smart controls and standard Alexa features."
"We want Alexa to become in all respects a natural and intuitive component of the driving experience. Lamborghini has made this vision its own, integrating it directly into the on-board infotainment systems, "added Ned Curic, Vice President of Alexa Auto, Amazon. "The integration will allow Lamborghini owners to benefit from an intelligent voice assistance service, while maintaining the focus on the emotions of the dynamic experience. We expect this implementation to become the reference standard for the future of in-car voice experiences. "
The Huracán EVO V10, proposed in Coupé and Spyder versions and launched in 2019, represents the latest generation of the all-wheel drive model of the Casa del Toro. With a new design for enhanced aerodynamics, it is the first Lamborghini with predictive logics for the control of dynamic systems and includes the Lamborghini Vehicle Dynamics Control System, to which are added four-wheel drive and four steering wheels, capable of redefining the reactivity parameters, agility and ease of driving. The 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 of the Huracán EVO generates 640 hp (470 kW) at 8,000 rpm and 600 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. With a dry weight of 1,422 kg, the Huracán EVO boasts a weight / power ratio of 2.22 kg / hp and is able to go from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds and from 0 to 200 km / h in 9 seconds. The braking distance from 100 km / h to total stop is only 31.9 m, while the maximum speed flies over 325 km / h.
In January 2020, the rear-wheel drive (RWD) version of the Huracán EVO Coupé was presented, for an experience of pure emotion and driving fun. The first deliveries of the Huracán EVO RWD will begin in spring 2020. The Alexa option will be available in 2020 on the entire Huracán EVO family, including the RWD.
