Skoda is offering a model from its RS family for the first time with plug-in-hybrid drives. The new Skoda OCTAVIA RS iV is fitted with a 1.4 TSI petrol engine and an 85 kW electric motor with a combined power output of 180 kW (245 PS). Featuring black details on the bodywork, the OCTAVIA RS iV is now instantly recognized as the sporty top-of-the-range variant of Skoda's bestseller in its fourth generation. The Czech carmaker will also introduce the new OCTAVIA in three other electrified versions. OCTAVIA iV is a plug-in hybrid that delivers 150 kW (204 PS) and is available in ambition and style rims. The two E-TEC versions, producing 81 EW (110 PS) and 110 kW (150 PS), use lightweight hybrid technology at Skoda for the first time.

Skoda fitted the OCTAVIA RS iV with a 1.4-liter TSI petrol engine (110 kW / 150 PS) and an 85-kW electric motor. Together, they have a combined power output of 180 kW (245 PS) and provide a maximum torque of 400 Nm, which is transferred to the front wheels via a 6-speed DSG. The car's CO the emissions in the WLTP cycle * is about 30 g / km, meaning it already complies with the new, strict EU6d emission standard for all newly registered vehicles in the EU, which will come into effect from 1 January 2021.
The high-voltage lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 37 Ah which is equivalent to 13 kWh, giving the car an all-electric range of up to 60 km in the WLTP cycle *. Since the torque of 330 Nm provided by the electric motor is directly available, the RS IV can quickly pull away. In Sport mode, which allows drivers to use the full power output of the car, the OCTAVIA RS iV delivers 0 to 100 km / h speeds in just 7.3 seconds. Its top speed is 225 km / h.

Sporty black accents provide distinctive visual features

The Skoda Octavia RS IV features distinctive LED fog lights and black 18-inch alloy wheels as standard; Brake calipers in the RS-typical red catch the eye. 19-inch alloys are available as options.

Dynamic, RS-style interior

When looking inside the OCTAVIA RS iV, the predominantly black interior stands out. The three-spoke leather multifunction sports steering wheel features the VRS logo and has paddles for DSG operation. The front sports seats are upside-down in black, while optional Ergo seats come with Alcantara® and leather upholstery as well as seat-depth adjustments.

The seats are decorated with an RS logo and decorative stitching colored in red or silver-gray, which can be found on the leather steering wheel, on the armrest, and also on the Alcantra®-covered dashboard. Paddles with aluminum design with decorative strips and sporty impressions in the RS look.

OCTAVIA iV plug-in hybrid delivering 204 PS

In addition to the RS variants of the OCTAVIA iV, Skoda is also offering plug-in-hybrid drives for ambition and style trim levels. Here, the 1.4 TSI petrol engine and 85 kW electric motor provide a power output of 150 kW (204 PS) and maximum torque of 350 Nm.

This plug-in-hybrid variant can also cover an electric range of up to 60 km in the WLTP cycle * and is fitted with a 6-speed DSG, powered using shift-by-wire technology. Its CO emission is about 30 g / km *. The OCTAVIA iV also complies with the EU6d emission standard.

Two e-TEC versions of OCTAVIA are making their Skoda debut. When they start closing the line this summer, they will be the first production cars from the brand to introduce light hybrid technology. When combined with the 7-speed DSG, the three-cylinder 1.0 TSI produces 81 kW (110 PS) and the four-cylinder 1.5 TSI 110 kW (150 PS) using a 48-volt belt-driven starter motor and a 48- Volt lithium-ion battery located under the front passenger seat and capacity of 0.6 kWh. Both models can be identified by a distinctive badge on their tailgate.
