Engine
In the global market, the Citroen C5 Aircross is available with four engine options: two petrol and two diesel units.
The small 1.2-liter petrol unit produces 130PS of power and 230Nm of torque and comes in a 6-speed manual gearbox. The larger 1.6-liter engine, on the other hand, is offered with an 8-speed automatic and comes with 180PS and 250Nm. Both engines are turbocharged.
For diesel, it is available with 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter units. While the smaller engine makes 130PS and 300Nm, the larger unit produces 176PS and 400Nm. While the 1.5-liter engine is available with a 6-speed manual as well as an 8-speed automatic, the 2.0-liter unit is only available with the latter.
In India, the C5 Aircross is expected to get 1.6-liter petrol and 2.0-liter diesel engines.
Design
While other mid-size SUVs in India look quite subtle and commercial, the C5 Aircross looks outlandish, especially with its front side headlamp installation and 'Airbumps' on the side. Airbumps are thin air-filled thermoplastic polyurethane elements designed to protect the bottom of doors from knocking and cracking. Also complementing the SUV's unusual styling are the red elements that can be seen around its exterior.
Features
The global-spec C5 Aircross is quite well-equipped on this front and expects the India-spec car to offer the same level of safety, comfort, and convenience. In the UK, the C5 offers features such as multiple airbags, ESP, traction control, hill start assist, electronic parking brake, traffic sign recognition, active lane assist, and active blind-spot detection.
Other features include panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, powered driver seat, front and rear parking sensors, hands-free parking, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
