In the Battle of Coronavirus: Mahindra to make 10,000 masks a day in 10 days
Auto industry giant Mahindra & Mahindra is fighting a multi-pronged battle to take over the COVID 19 (Coronavirus) epidemic. The company is already working on manufacturing ventilators and its manufacturing facilities are undergoing a facelift. The top management also said that they are ready to help anyone who wants to make a face in this fight against the epidemic. In response to the initiative, a Mumbai-based start-up that makes sanitary napkins asked to modify its machines to produce 3-ply masks. And in 4 days the engineers of Flat Mahindra Company answered the call and set up a manufacturing line inside Mahindra's Kandivali plant in Mumbai.
The Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra Company, Dr. Pawan Goenka shared this news on Twitter. He said that the manufacture of these 3-ply masks would begin from Friday and would be scheduled to produce 10,000 masks per day within ten days. They also shared that these masks are UV-sterilized and have a bacterial filter efficiency of 99.95%.
