Skoda Volkswagen company has now started making AMBU bag ventilators, filtered face masks and intubation boxes for surgeons.
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India is constantly striving to manufacture various devices to assist doctors in the fight against coronavirus infection. Skoda Auto Company started manufacturing face shields at its Chakan and Aurangabad factories earlier this month.
Additionally, the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Company has now started manufacturing artificial manual breathing unit (AMBU) bag ventilators, filtered face masks, and intubation boxes for surgeons.
A low-cost prototype of the Artificial Manual Breathing Unit (AMBU) bag ventilator has already been manufactured by the company. Its 24-hour stability test has also been completed and is now being monitored for continuous performance. Subsequently, the ventilator prototype will be handed over to health experts for a complete evaluation. To help doctors during surgical procedures, the company has also started making an intubation box that works as an additional shield.
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India engineers are also customizing snorkeling masks provided by Decathlon to equip them with 3D printed inlets manufactured at the company's plant. Masks and shields can be used during the procedure in the ICU and during a consultation in the OPD. The face shield can be sanitized about 6-8 hours prior to reuse. So far 9 thousand shields have already been delivered to health care workers in Pune, Aurangabad, and Latur, etc. of Maharashtra. Along with this, the company also announced that it is contributing to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund to fight the deadly coronavirus.
