New Mahindra Thar launch and booking details revealed
The new Mahindra Thar will go on sale on October 2, 2020, with bookings commencing on the same day. Off-roader in Quantum Leap compared to older models with new technology, better features, comfortability and more.
The all new Thar 2020 has the following exciting features:

- All-new roof option: a hard top, a first-class convertible top and an optional soft top
- All-new seating option: 4 front-facing seats and 2 + 4 side-facing seats

The new Mahindra Thar will be offered in soft-top and hard-top versions, the SUV retains the familiar silhouette but gets the distinctive new grille that draws inspiration from Mahindra's classic vehicles. This is a major departure from the current seven-slate grille that has grabbed the front. The hood has been raised for increased foot safety but the A-Pillar remains at the rear which leads the long hood into the beltline.The SUV gets integrated turn indicators and LED day-time running lights with wider bumper and wheel arches. Vertical taillights also get LED combination lights for a distinctive look.
This design also flows into the approach inside. An integral part of the Thar's DNA, the New Mahindra Thar has a completely redesigned interior that reflects the strong, retro-styled hints of the Thar's exterior, while maintaining a commanding driving position.

Breathtaking performance
The all-new Mahindra Thar is powered by two all-new engines, setting new standards in terms of performance, refinement and reliability. A first for Thar and Mahindra, the all-new Thar is powered by a 2.0L mStallion TGDi petrol engine, and by a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine. These engines are offered with the option of either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, with an authentic 4x4 manual shift transfer case with lower ratios.
