 Hyundai has globally introduced the all-new 'Stargazer' MPV, which is also rumored to be a direct rival to the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens in India. The new Stargazer will first go on sale in Indonesia and will then be launched in other markets.

In terms of exterior look and design, the all-new Hyundai Stargazer gets the Staria-inspired front face to a great extent. Let us tell you that the Hyundai Staria is a large size luxury MPV which is sold in the international markets. The Stargazer gets a very modern looking full-width horizontal LED DRL on the bonnet line. Just below it is a front grille with a rectangular pattern that is surrounded by vertically positioned LED headlamps. At the rear, the new Stargazer gets matching vertical tail lamps which are connected to a light stripe on the tailgate and form an 'H' shape.

Inside the cabin, the Hyundai Stargazer gets a 6 seater layout with captain seats in the middle row. Hyundai says that the cabin has been designed for greater comfort and convenience. Some of the key cabin features inside the Stargazer include an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, wireless charger and roof-mounted aircon vents for the rear passengers.In addition, practicality is enhanced by a foldable tray, cup holder and seatback pocket behind the driver's seat inside the car.

Hyundai has equipped the Stargazer with some modern safety features like forward-collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, lane-keep assist, and blind-spot collision avoidance assist. Apart from this, the MPV is also offered with the company's patented BlueLink Connected Car features which include remote engine start/stop, door lock/unlock and AC on/off.

In Indonesia, the car is offered with a single powertrain option of a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 113 bhp of maximum power and 144 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a CVT and 6-speed manual gearbox.

However, there is no official confirmation from Hyundai Motor India regarding the launch of the Stargazer in the country. But if it does, it will compete with cars like the Kia Carens, Maruti Suzuki XL6, and Toyota Innova Crysta.
